Louisville Fourth of July Events 2010

By

Since Kentucky laws regulate the sale of fireworks so heavily, this year you may want to make plans to visit a Louisville Fourth of July event rather than planning your own backyard party. Why bother smuggling fireworks across the Indiana border when you can enjoy the fireworks at one of these professionally-designed local fireworks shows?

Waterfront Independence Festival

Waterfront Park will host its free, annual fireworks show over the Ohio River this year on July 3 and 4. The show can bee seen from both sides of the river, but Waterfront Park will host live bands, Radio Disney, and inflatable games for kids.

Crescent Hill Old-Fashioned Fourth of July

Crescent Hill residents will want to stick close to home on the Fourth of July in order to experience the 27th Annual Crescent Hill Old-Fashioned Fourth of July. This event will take place on July 3 and 4 and will feature a variety of activities for the whole family. This event is free and held on the grounds of the Peterson-Dumesnil House.

Fourth of July Bullitt Blast

Rather than driving over to the city, Bullitt County residents may want to stay around home this year for the free Fourth of July Bullitt Blast. This day-long event features food, rides, music, and games for kids. The night ends with a fireworks show over Salt River.

This free fireworks show held at the Old Capitol Golf Club rivals anything that explodes over the Ohio River. Bring a blanket and enjoy the evening of July 4 with this huge fireworks display in Corydon, Indiana. The best part about this event is that it's not nearly as crowded as anything you'll find to do Fourth of July weekend in Louisville.
