From dining on a boat on the Ohio River to sampling turkey while betting at the track, we’ve got you covered.

Belle of Louisville Thanksgiving Cruise

On Thanksgiving, The Spirit of Jefferson will board at 12:30 p.m. and depart at 1 p.m. Plan to celebrate the holiday while enjoying the view and a traditional meal. The boat disembarks 3 p.m. Tickets in 2012 were $44 for adults. Discounted tickets available for children and seniors. There are also tickets available for those who want to go for the cruise and forgo the meal. Be forewarned, their website pushes many trinkets and souvenirs before a ticket can actually be purchased.

Captain's Quarters

In Prospect, KY, Captain’s Quarters will be hosting a Thanksgiving buffet featuring salads, turkey, fried chicken, seafood, green been casseroles and more. Dinner will be served from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and the price in 2012 was $21.95 for adults, $13.95 for children 6-12. Call (502) 228-1651 and ask about the CQ Princess Thanksgiving Day Cruise.

Churchill Downs

If you’ve got the gambling itch, Churchill Downs is open for a full day of racing on Thanksgiving Day. There will be betting, of course, but in the tradition of keeping it festive, there is also a Thanksgiving buffet complete with all of your holiday favorites. Your out of pocket cost started at $52 for adults and $26 for kids 2-12 in 2012. How much you really spend, is up to you.

English Grill

In the historic Brown Hotel, The English Grill will be hosting a Thanksgiving feast. The 2013 price is $59 per person, $20 for children 4-12. For this price you’ll find an abundant choices such as pan-seared filet mignon with chive mashed potatoes; and a traditional turkey plate with herb stuffing and sweet potato gratinee. Save room for dessert with options like pumpkin pie, apple-cranberry bread pudding and chocolate ganache tart. J. Graham's Café

Interested in heading to The Brown Hotel but looking for something a bit more casual? Head to J. Graham’s. Soup, salads, carving stations and desserts will be at the ready. Featured main dishes include Kansas City strip loin with bourbon-apple jus; maple-glazed Kentucky ham and citrus-roasted turkey breast carved to order; and seared salmon with red pepper coulis. The 2013 price is $37 per person, $17 for children 4-12. Reservations are requested, call The Brown Hotel at (502) 583-1234, and dinner will be served from 12:15-12:45 p.m. and 2:30-3 p.m.

The Oakroom Royal Brunch

Enjoy a Thanksgiving meal in the famous Seelbach Hotel. This year, pianist Steve Crews will be playing while visitors dine. Expect all of your Thanksgiving favorite dishes. Dinner is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost in 2012 was $50 per adult, $25 for children 5-12. Thanksgiving at Sway

Sway in the Hyatt Regency Louisville presents a Thanksgiving buffet on November 28, 2013, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Traditional favorites and seasonal entrees are topped off with a decadent desserts. The cost is $35 per person. Reduced rate of $30 for seniors and $16 for children ages 5-12. Call for reservations (502) 217-6028.

 

Proof on Main

From 2-8 p.m., take pleasure in the art-filled dining room of Proof on Main. Chef Levon Wallace will be at the helm, cooking up Thanksgiving classics as well as the dishes Proof on Main has become famous for. Because of these options, the price for a meal varies. Winston’s at Sullivan University

The staff of Winston’s has teamed up with Juleps Catering and The Bakery at Sullivan University in creating a family-friendly Thanksgiving meal. Enjoy traditional holiday favorites like turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
