Louisville Costume Stores

By , About.com Guide

Halloween just isn't the same without a great costume. Luckily there are a couple of great, locally-owned Louisville costume stores where you can search for the Halloween costume of your dreams.

Caufield's Novelty

When I was in high school, my friends and I used to go to Caufield's just to look at all of the cool things they have there. Caufield's Novelty in Downtown Louisville is open year-round, and it's a fantastic place to get costumes, accessories, and party decorations for every occasion, whether you're looking for beads to wear to a Mardi Gras party or trying to put together a Halloween costume to enter a contest in. The costumes at Caufield's are also high quality, not like those cheap, thin costumes you'll get out of a bag from Wal-Mart.

Horner Novelty

Horner Novelty has three locations in Kentuckiana—one off of Breckenridge Lane in Louisville, one off of Preston Highway in Louisville, and the main location off of Spring Street in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Horner Novelty carries costumes, accessories, party decorations, carnival games, carnival prizes, pull tabs, and more. The costumes at Horner's are reasonably-priced and high quality, and the best part is that you'll get to look at the product before you buy it. Online costume retailers can't offer you that.
