Mutant Bar Party for Wolverine

When: May 1st
Where: Showcase Cinemas Stonybrook
What: Mutant Bar Party for Wolverine. Everyone who attends gets a free Wolverine comic. Costumes, 80's Metal Band or Obscure X-Man trivia, and more.

First Friday Trolley Hop

When: May 1st
Where: Downtown Louisville
What: A tour of dozens of galleries in Downtown Louisville’s art district, taking participants to several different art galleries located on the Main, Market, and Fourth Street strips.

Gardeners’ Fair and Silent Auction

When: May 8th-10th
Where: Locust Grove
What: This event offers visitors a chance to purchase flowers, herbs, perennials, shade plants, and planters along with a variety of tools, artistic and practical gardening accessories, wrought iron sculptures, water gardens and antique yard furniture. Professionals will be on hand to answer questions and help solve your garden problems.

Green Girls and Red Shirts Party for Star Trek

When: May 9th
Where: Showcase Cinemas Stonybrook
What: Green Girls and Red Shirts Party for Star Trek. Everyone who attends gets a free Maker's Mark dipped glass. Come as a creatively-killed Red Shirt or any of your favorite aliens. Costumes, Shatner impressions, and great prizes from event sponsors.

Throo the Zoo 5K Run/Walk

When: May 9th
Where: The Louisville Zoo
What: Runners and walkers alike enjoy spending the morning with the animals at the annual Throo the Zoo 5K Run/Walk. The race fee includes healthy post-race refreshments, door prizes, and free Zoo admission for the day.

Michael Quinlan Brain Tumor Foundation’s Fundraising Walk

When: May 9th
Where: Waterfront Park
What: This scenic walk along the banks of the Ohio River takes off at 9:30 a.m. There will be music, refreshments and face painting for the kids. The walk raises essential funds for the Michael Quinlan Brain Tumor Foundation.

Art in the Arbor

When: May 9th and 10th
Where: Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church
What: This year’s festival will again be located on the beautiful wooded grounds behind Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church. With over 100 artists’ booths, up to 8,000 visitors will mingle throughout the forest buying and admiring local and regional artwork on the weekend after Derby.

Louisville Urban League Diversity Soirée

When: May 16th
Where: The Galt House
What: Celebrate diversity in our community and highlight our ethnic cultures with music, entertainment, and cuisine. The 2009 Diversity Soirée promotes strong intercultural dialogue and understanding among people of all colors and backgrounds.

Forest Fest

When: May 16th
Where: Jefferson Memorial Forest
What: A spectacular day of Bluegrass music, food, crafters, vendors and youth activities in the scenic environment of America's largest municipal forest awaits those who visit Jefferson Memorial Forest's fifth annual Forest Fest on Saturday, May 16th.
