Find the Best Louisville Desserts

The Best Places for Dessert in Kentuckiana

By , About.com Guide

I have a group of friends who used to go to restaurants just to order desserts because they were always too full to eat them at the end of their meals. Feel free to steal their idea after you read this list of the best places to find Louisville desserts.

Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen

The Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen is a Louisville favorite for one reason – they have the best pie in the city. With locations scattered throughout Louisville and Southern Indiana, you never have to go far to get a piece of warm, delicious, homemade pie served with a big scoop of ice cream. Make sure to try the mixed berry pie, Dutch caramel apple pie, and pumpkin ice cream.

The Cheesecake Factory

To no one's surprise, The Cheesecake Factory specializes in cheesecakes of all flavors. Louisville's Cheesecake factory is located in at the [link url=/od/shoppingservices/p/stmatthewsmall.htm]St. Matthews Mall[/link]. While the restaurant has a huge menu of regular food for diners, the only real reason to go to The Cheesecake Factory is for a slice of everyone's favorite dessert. The cheesecake is pricey, but the slices are heavy and delicious. Make sure to try the original, the white chocolate raspberry truffle, and the chocolate tuxedo cream cheesecakes.

Adrienne & Co.

Adrienne & Co. is on Court Avenue in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It is a bakery and diner where people go to eat a meal, indulge on homemade baked goods, and grab a cake for a special occasion. When a couple of my good friends had a baby, I stopped at Adrienne's on the way to the hospital and bought then a cake, the first thing a new mother needs. The cakes at Adrienne & Co. are very reasonably priced, rich, and heavy, and I've never had anything from there that wasn't delicious. It's definitely worth a drive across the bridge.
