Because of its recent influx of new residents and the high local interest in the neighborhood, the number of bars in Germantown has been growing. Barret Bar
Located at 1012 Barret Avenue, Barret Bar is best known for its huge room of pool tables. In fact, I'd go as far as to describe it as a pool hall as much as a bar. At six dollars an hour, pool is the thing to do when you go to Barret Bar, though drinking is big game there as well. The side of the bar without pool tables is darker and more like a bar than a game room.Flabby's Schnitzelburg

Schnitzelburg is a good place to play pool and get in a fight, but the prices are great if you're the type of person who can laugh about anything and keep your head down when necessary.
Lisa's Oak Street Lounge
Located at 1004 E. Oak Street, Lisa's Oak Street Lounge is a live music bar that fits into the grouping of Germantown bars that cater primarily to long-time residents of the neighborhood. It's rare that you find some of the neighborhood's younger residents hanging out at Lisa's. However, if you dare to try it out for yourself, they have live, local music throughout the week, cheap beer, pool tables, and dart boards.Nachbar
Located at 969 Charles Street, Nachbar is another of those Germantown bars that has evolved into a popular hangout among the young professionals, UofL students, and first-time homeowners that live, work, and study close to Germantown. Cheap prices on beer and cocktails as well as a great deck bar make Nachbar a great low-key Germantown bar.Seidenfaden Café
Located at 1134 E. Breckinridge Street, Seidenfaden Café is an old Germantown bar that has evolved into a stylish hangout because of its unique character and cheap prices. Seidenfaden is tiny and embodies the term "hole in the wall." It serves beer and cocktails, but there aren't a lot of frills – if you're asking for more than a bourbon and coke, you're likely going to be disappointed.T. Eddie's
Located at 1154 Logan Street, T. Eddie's is a small Germantown bar that caters to a regular crowd. This hole-in-the-wall bar defines Germantown's historic roots before the neighborhood became a popular spot for college students and young professionals. Still, cheap beer and drinks and knowing you won't run into anyone you know has its benefits occasionally.Located at 2126 S. Preston Street, Uncle Pleasant's is a bar and live music venue in the heart of Germantown. It was one of the local nightclubs that were hardest hit by the Louisville smoking ban, so it is currently only open on nights when shows are scheduled.
