Thunder Over Louisville draws more than half a million spectators every year. The Galt House

If you're on a high enough balcony, the fireworks explode right in front of your eyes. Waterfront Park

If you're going to watch Thunder Over Louisville from the riverfront, then you'll want to make sure that you're as close to the Second Street Bridge as possible. Waterfront Park is one of the best places to watch Thunder Over Louisville -- many vendors are there selling food and drinks, there are portable restrooms around every corner, and you'll be able to hear all of the Thunder Over Louisville music and Air Show commentary.
Jeffersonville

Another one of the best places to watch Thunder Over Louisville is in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Jeffersonville is on the other side of the Second Street Bridge, and traffic and crowds there are generally less condensed than they are on the Louisville side. Most of the areas on the Jeffersonville side of the Second Street Bridge are private property, though there are some good pedestrian areas on Riverside Drive. Some of the riverfront restaurants in Jeffersonville also offer reserved Thunder Over Louisville balcony tables for the show.
Slugger Field

If you're planning on making Thunder Over Louisville an all-day event, then you may want to consider watching the show from Louisville Slugger Field. The tickets for Thunder Over Louisville at Slugger Field allow you to watch a Bats baseball game, the Thunder Over Louisville air show, and the Thunder Over Louisville fireworks. Best of all, you have your own seat throughout the day, you don't have to worry about people walking over you, and you have access to concession stands, a reserved parking area, and public restrooms.
Iroquois Park
If you want to watch Thunder Over Louisville but aren't interested in dealing with the crowds or traffic, then you may want to try watching the show from the top of Iroquois Park. From there you can see all of the fireworks, and if you bring a radio, you can hear the music soundtrack as well. The show won't bee the same as watching it from downtown, but it's a good alternative as a means of avoiding the other 500,000 Thunder spectators.Louisville Science Center

If you're going to watch Thunder Over Louisville with young kids that will hardly be content with sitting on the waterfront all day, you may want to consider buying tickets to ThunderBlast at the Louisville Science Center. ThunderBlast tickets allow you to watch Thunder Over Louisville from the Louisville Science Center parking lot and to access both the Louisville Science Center and the Louisville Slugger Museum at no cost throughout the day. Additionally, with each ticket you get a hot meal, two drink tickets that can be used for sodas or alcohol, and access to private restrooms.
