Jefferson Square 2-Day Flag-In

What: Volunteers and event participants will place flags in the ground at Jefferson Square to honor America's fallen veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders.
Parade of Flags and Remembrance Ceremony
When: May 23rdWhere: Jefferson Square
What: Volunteers will carry thousands of U.S. Flags in the Louisville Parade of Flags to escort the families of Flight 93 on a two-block long procession to the Remembrance Field at 6th and Jefferson.
Louisville USA Flag-In
When: May 23rdWhere: Waterfront Park
What: Volunteers will work to spell USA with 25,000 U.S. flags on the Waterfront Park Great Lawn.
Louisville Flags 4 Vets Memorial Day Observance
When: May 25thWhere: Waterfront Park
What: Participants in this event will form a human border around the U.S. flag sculpture on Waterfront Park's Great Lawn. There will be an observance at Noon with Mayor Abramson and other dignitaries, bagpipes, a bugler, military guests, and more.
Memorial Day Free Meal at Avalon

What: Avalon owner Steve Clements, son of an Army veteran, is celebrating Memorial Day by offering a free meal (up to $30 in value) to all veterans, current members of the armed services, and spouses of deployed military personnel on Memorial Day.
