Kentucky State Fair General Information

For more than 100 years, people from across Kentucky and its surrounding states have gathered once a year for the annual Kentucky State Fair. Though it was originally designed for those in the field of agriculture, today the Kentucky State Fair attracts more than 600,000 people each year with its variety of events, concerts, and competitions.

2009 Kentucky State Fair Dates

The 2009 Kentucky State Fair is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2009, through Sunday, August 30, 2009.

Kentucky State Fair Location

The annual Kentucky State Fair is held at the Kentucky Exposition Center at 937 Phillips Lane in Louisville, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Fair Admission

Adult: $8
Child (ages 3 - 12): $4
Child (ages 0 - 3): Free
Senior (ages 55 and up): $4
Parking: $6

Gates:
7 a.m. - Close -- Daily

Exhibits:
9 a.m. - 10 p.m. -- Daily

Midway:
2 p.m. - Close -- Weekdays
Noon - Close -- Saturday and Sunday

Kentucky State Fair Entries

The Kentucky State Fair has competitions in thousands of categories that are separated into 30 different departments, including several livestock categories, antiques, homemade beer and wine, fine arts and crafts, and hobbies. Kentucky State Fair Tickets

Kentucky State Fair tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the Fair. Advance purchase of admission tickets to the Fair can earn buyers a $2 discount on each ticket. Kentucky State Fair tickets can be purchased in advance at any Kroger in Kentucky or Southern Indiana with a Kroger Plus Card. Admission tickets do not include parking fees.
