Review
I visited the Louisville Science Center many times as a kid, both on field trips and with my parents. I can remember having a great time every time I went. There was always something to do there that I hadn't done before, and the several floors of exhibits seemed endless.
I recently took my three-year-old daughter to the Louisville Science Center for the first time. I was a little skeptical because she's too young for complicated learning activities, but there was plenty for her to do there. We spent three hours wandering around the museum, playing with exhibits and learning new things. We could have spent more time there, but it was late and we were tired.
The Louisville Science Center has four full floors of exhibits, so many that you'll wonder at the end if you really looked at everything there. Some of the exhibits were not working properly or at all, which was disappointing. The Kid Zone was nothing like I imagined. It was just a big room with a lot of dirty, broken toys. I didn't really want my daughter playing in there. But, she enjoyed the rest of the museum more than she would have enjoyed those toys.
The IMAX is a great attraction for older kids. Going to the IMAX as a child was one of my favorite things to do. The movies are always interesting and entertaining, and you feel like you're a part of them.
Overall, I'd encourage anyone who has never been to the Louisville Science Center to check it out sometime. There were people with and without kids there on the night we visited. Just remember to bring some hand sanitizer and try not to get frustrated when certain exhibits aren't working. There are plenty of other things to do.
Pros
- Long-lasting activity
- Fun thing to do with the kids
- Combines entertainment with learning
Cons
- Certain exhibits are habitually broken
- Kid Zone needs a deep cleaning
