Goodbye Party for the Delta Queen
When: Friday, October 24th, 2008
Where: Fourth Street Wharf
What: The Delta Queen, a longtime participant in the Kentucky Derby Festival Great Steamboat Race, will be docked permanently on October 30th, 2008, so the city is throwing a goodbye party for her on what is likely her last stop in Louisville.

Where: Downtown Bristol, BLU Italian Grille, Bistro 301, Caviar, Hard Rock Café, Los Aztecas, Mayan Café, Melillo's Italian Restaurant, Proof, Red Star Tavern, Road to Morocco, and Vincenzo's

Reader Question: Moving to Louisville Help

I am interviewing for a job in Louisville and may be moving there between November and February if things go well. I am 48, a business executive, with my 11 year old daughter. I am thinking I might wish to live in the City, walking distance to some city life. Apt or condo. Rental only at this point because I will need to sell my home here. Safe, clean, upscale, parking. I can rent for a year and then will look to buy. Your thoughts and ideas?

AJ's Closing for the Season

One of my favorite restaurants in Kentuckiana, AJ's Coffee-n-Cream in Georgetown, Indiana, is closing for the season on October 24th, 2008. I reviewed AJ's earlier this year after stopping there for lunch on a whim, and I'd encourage anyone who has never eaten there to head out and try their gyros before it's too late. They have the best gyros in town, and I'm sure I'll suffer from gyro withdrawal once they're closed for the season.

Veterans Angry over McConnell Ad, I'm Just Over Politics

In my opinion, political ads are right up there with email forwards – they're never factual and they prey on the ignorant. However, the people who are too dense to check Snopes.com before forwarding a long-winded fabrication on to everyone in their address book are certainly not out there researching the claims made on TV political ads.
