Earthquake in Louisville: What Was Your Reaction?
Friday April 18, 2008
My sister-in law said she jumped out of bed thinking it was a tornado and frantically searching the floor for her pants. A lot of people I talked to said their first thought was that it was a tornado, which is to be expected in this area where earthquakes just don't happen. When my husband sat up in bed and asked me what had just happened, I said "It was either an earthquake or something really big blew up really close to here."
I had just hit the snooze button on my alarm clock when the room started shaking. It didn't last long, but it was long and violent enough for me to have several thoughts: What in the world? Is that an earthquake? I should probably do something? What am I even supposed to do? Then it was over. It was either the scariest or most exciting thing ever, though I'm not quite sure which at this point.
