Louisville Loop: One-Fourth Down, Three-Fourths to Go
Thursday April 17, 2008
Mayor Jerry Abramson cut the tape on Tuesday for the opening of the first section of the Louisville Loop. The Louisville Loop will eventually become a 100-mile walking, hiking, and biking trail that circles the city. On Tuesday, however, Mayor Abramson cut the tape for the opening of just the first 23 miles of trail.
This first section of the trail, referred to as the Ohio River Levee Trail & Riverwalk, begins at Riverfront Park, runs through Shawnee Park and along Cane Run Road, and ends at the Farnsley-Moremen Landing. A map of this section of the trail is available for download through the Metro Parks page of the Louisville Metro Government website.
