Yes, It Has Been Hot This Summer

Hot SummerI did very little outdoors this summer. I normally love being outside during the summer, but it was so hot this summer that it was unbearable to be outdoors for more than a few minutes. At first I thought it was just a heat wave, but it continued. June was hot, July was hot, and August was hot. After a while, I started to wonder if maybe I had just forgotten what summer felt like.

I felt better this morning when I discovered a Forbes.com article about the summer's 20 hottest cities. Guess which city was number 1? That's right--Louisville had the most days this summer with temperatures above normal. In fact, almost every day this summer has been hotter than the city's normal summer temperatures.

We should see some relief going into September. Now we just have to hope that our hottest summer ever isn't followed by the coldest winter on record. Personally, I'm going to be optimistic and hope  it will be followed by the hottest winter ever.
