Most people would give their dominant hand for a chance to be featured at the 2010 Forecastle Festival. After all, it is one of the city's major events--second, perhaps, only to the Derby--and organizers are expecting more than 25,000 attendees at the 2010 festival. There are few local gigs that promise so much publicity.

So, if you're a local musician or film maker, now is the time to get excited. Organizers for the 2010 Forecastle Festival are currently accepting submissions from regional musicians, of which ten will be selected to perform at the 2010 event. Additionally, organizers will begin accepting film submissions soon as well. Here's the info from the February newsletter:

Music submissions are up and running. You can apply from now through next month by visiting the website. We will select (10) artists to perform at this year's event. All genres are accepted. If you are based in the region, there's no reason not to apply.

Film submissions will open shortly, and cover a vast array of genres, compared to years previous. Details will be posted on the website soon. For immediate inquires, feel free to contact Derrick at film@forecastlefest.com.
