Local Groups Combine and Celebrate Art

Friday July 10, 2009
Local arts group Art Sanctuary and local theater group Alley Theater have found a new, shared home in The Pointe at 1205 E. Washington St. To celebrate, they're throwing a Housewarming Hullabaloo on July 18 from 5 p.m. to Midnight. The event has a $5 admission fee and will feature the work of local artists, musicians, and performers.

The groups are hosting the housewarming to introduce the exciting new space and to request donations of materials and labor as well as cash donations to help fund future programming such as life drawing, art education, and children's theater workshops. [Press Release]
I did a reading with Art Sanctuary several years ago at Flanagan's, and I really believe that the group does a lot to support the small-scale local arts scene that doesn't get as much attention as some of the other arts around town. So, if you want to support the arts, enjoy them, and have a good time, head out to The Pointe next weekend for the Housewarming Hullabaloo (More Info).
