Churchill Downs Fall Meet

Friday November 7, 2008
I normally blog about upcoming local events on Friday, but I couldn't find anything worth mentioning this week that wasn't already included in my November Events Calendar. However, there is one big thing going on this month that I haven't mentioned – the Churchill Downs Fall Meet. From now through November 29th, Churchill Downs will be open, racing, and running specials.

Fridays Happy Hours are back for the Fall Meet at Churchill Downs. From 3-5 p.m. visitors to the track can buy $2 hotdogs and beer while they bet on and watch the races. Tuesdays are Senior Days where senior citizens can enjoy a buffet on Millionaire's Row for less than $20. Churchill Downs is also open on Thanksgiving, and I think a day at the track with my family sounds much better than eating too much turkey and taking a nap. I might start a new family Thanksgiving tradition this year.

If you're looking for something fun to do this month, I highly suggest making plans to head down to Churchill Downs for their last meet of the year.
