Registration Open for Marathon and miniMarathon

Monday September 8, 2008
If you’re planning on running the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon or miniMarathon in 2009, you may want to go ahead and register. As a person who sometimes feels burdened when making plans as early as a week ahead of time, I can’t imagine registering for a race when it’s still so far away, but I guess it’s a good idea if the race is something that you’ll have to prepare for months ahead of time.

According to the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon website, both the Marathon and miniMarathon “sold out” last year (I’m assuming that means that there’s a limit on the number of people who can register and run the races). The fees are pretty reasonable if you register early -- $35 for the miniMarathon and $60 for the Marathon. If you wait and register too close to the actual marathons, you’ll pay $70 for the mini and $100 for the Marathon.
