Is Waverly Hills Haunted? Share Your Story…

Wednesday August 13, 2008
When I was a teenager, we used to drive up the road that leads to Waverly Hills as far as we could go before we had to get out of the car and walk the rest of the way. This was back before its current owners bought it, so it was known primarily for being a place where a lot of people died of a horrible disease and less as a scary haunted house, hotel, or tourist attraction.

Waverly Hills, in my opinion, is a terrifying place regardless of whether it's haunted or not. We generally walked for a few feet before getting spooked and running terrified back to the car and driving like maniacs until we were far, far away from the towering, dark, quiet building.

Most people over the age of 20 that lived as a teenager in Valley Station or Fairdale have a story of a trip to Waverly Hills, even my mom. Some say that Waverly Hills is haunted without a doubt, and some say that they never saw anything out of the ordinary there. Do you have a Waverly Hills story? Is Waverly Hills truly haunted?

My best friend worked at Waverly Hills as a nurse aide for several before it closed. She never mentioned anything weird happening. She worked 3rd shift. So I don’t think it’s haunted.

When I was a teenager the thing to do was visit Waverly Hills. Before going there I didn’t think it was haunted. We had 10 people with us. The person in the front and the person in the back both had flashlights. As we were walking up the steps to another floor (wasn’t steps anymore just an incline) at the same time the batteries fell out of the bottom of both of the flashlights. That was really the only thing that happened while we were there but still a weird thing to happen. It is a very sppoky place.

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED……. My friend and I are going to visit probably towards the end of July this year. We are booking a private night during the week, probably a Thursday. There will be ONLY 10 people on this date! We are a group of 2. We need 8 more individuals or 3 more groups. It will be much more exciting with only 10 people instead of the normal 40. If you are interested email me and I will give you the details of how to book on our night. Thanks Amiee! bypdrtkc@gmail.com

Some of my friends and I went there in the early 90’s. We were on the 3rd floor when we started hearing a moaning sound. We thought someone else was in there and was trying to scare us. We followed the sound, which took us to the end of the hallway, the last room on the right. When we got in the room, no one was there, but we seen two beds which looked liked someone had just been in them. The noise stopped, and we ended up leaving. Years later I watched a story on TV about Waverly Hills. They talked about the 3rd floor, and two girls that had stayed there with TB. They became best friends and made a pact that when one dies, they both would die. The story said that they both ended up dieing in the same bed together. While watching, they went into the room where this took place, and to my shock, it was the same room I had been in years before. Kinda freaked me out a little!
