Your Trash Could Be Someone Else's Treasure

Tuesday July 1, 2008
Whether you're looking to buy a lawnmower this year or you're looking to get rid of your old lawnmower after buying a new model, you may be interested in checking out Freecycle Louisville. Freecycle.org is a nonprofit network of groups with a goal of preventing the unnecessary use of landfills by providing a place where people can exchange used items for free.

So, before you throw out that old couch, remember that someone else might think it’s the best couch they've ever seen. Freecycle Louisville is entirely free to join and use, and the only condition is that all exchanges made are done so without any monetary commitment. Giving things away through Freecycle may keep unnecessary items out of landfills, and it may even help a needy family get the things they can't afford to buy.
